our shackled bodies will remain rotting under piles of blood and steel, as our captors maintain their sick heavenly grim. no spirit breaks free from a tormented body. now all i feel is fear. through broken soil no life can thrive, water these crops so you'll watch them die. the cycle of pain drains much more than creates, it takes down what would matter the most in the end, so refrain from establishing this rotten crystallization of a self, striving is a waste. let life drain away. let the numbness of existence take over all your limbs and finally stop striding.

Mais contre toute attente, ce chant du cygne d'Exiled from Light n'est pas une acceptation résignée de la mort. While this album might not be anything particularly mind-blowing, it's still a good example of how DSBM should be done. I have a soft spot for this album as its seductive gloominess helped me through a certain rough patch in my life, and I believe it to be somewhat of a hidden gem. Rest in peace, Reverend John Hex. An hidden gem in depressive black metal from 2010, unfortunately this band only put out this demo, but it’s a masterful work nonetheless. The energetic drumming and the melodic and melancholic guitar work are the highlights of this release; everything is complemented by a good mix, where all the instruments are well balanced and not overproduced. Vocals are also perfectly in style with the genre and well recorded. Overrall a fantastic demo 9/10. Ps: also a super fast shipping from the label! pifzzover01
